New Tamiya Chassis TC-01
It's a shaft driven 4wd, and looks to be modelled after Formula E
Here's a still from the video:

Maybe I'm wrong but I have something in my mind that there has been already a kind of 4x4 Formula1 chassis from Tamiya in the past?
... Found it, chassis F201. Maybe TC-01 is a successor of the old one?
Regards,
Michael

TA01/02/03/04/05/06/07
Touring A - shaft to 02 (circa 1993) then belt since
TB01/02/03/04/05
Touring B - Shaft from day one (circa 2000)
TC01
shaft and brand new chassis form, hence gets the C designation. Stretch to call it Touring C though when you see a FormulaE body! But not like Tamiya have ever stuck to logic with nomenclature.
Search on google based on the sponsors leads to this full size.

I'm excited about the chassis, of course, but that body is atrocious. Anything Formula E is cringe worthy.

Looks like an F-E. But when you hear or read the abbreviation "TC", Touring Car comes to mind first. So If it ain't a touring car chassis, they should re-name it to something else like "TE" or "TF".

It's interesting that Tamiya didn't choose Fxx nomenclature - maybe chassis is meant for wider range of bodies? And C could also be hint to Group C chassis.

I was thinking about crossover, but maybe grouo c and open wheel are better guess.

Do you think it is the same car as used in this promo shoot from last year?

I caused this car to phase into existence by buying a TB-05 last week. You're welcome, everybody

All this talk of why "C"?
Probably just because we had the TA and TB range.
logically TC would follow.
